Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is about a firefighter named Montag who burns books. This book is set in the future. It is very confusing thinking about this book in a 21st century mindset because in the book the firefighters are starting the fires and in our world the firefighters are "fighting" the fires and putting them out. Montag lives in a society where the government does not want people to be educated. Once again this is confusing because the government wants you to be educated in the 21st century because the more educated you are the better chance you have getting farther in life than the people that are uneducated. In F451 it makes it sound like the government doesn't want you to be successful the all want everyone equal and they will take you out if you do not follow their orders.I do not think that this is a good book for children to read. This is because children will not understand and be confused. Also they will think that books are not good and they will not want to read. I can see this actually happening because in the future I think that most citizens will be completely brainwashed. I do not want to live in this kind of world because I like to figure things out on my own and not be commanded my entire life.
